October 2 | HDB BTO FLAT

Went to sign the agreement of lease and proceeded to paying the downpayment for our flat!

So now everything's confirmed and we just need to wait until 3 years later when we can collect the key to our very own home~

I haven't really talked about the Bf and I getting a flat.........

It was kinda easy for us actually.. The Bf was afraid that we will take very long to get a BTO flat, so he kept asking me to try balloting, but I refused cus there wasn't any Punggol ones at that that.. So we waited until one day, I saw that they are launching Punggol BTOs! I mentioned it to the Bf and he told me to go ahead and ballot.. Since S$10 only.. We proceeded doing so.

It was March when we threw in our S$10 for the ballot. And it was stated that the results will be out on the 15th. I was overseas on 15th but when I checked my email, I saw an email from HDB.

Our ballot was successful. -.-  What the...............

Yup I was happy but worried at the same time too.. Like I don't think we are prepared for it. We don't have any savings, how to buy a house!!! Omgzz... 老天真是捉弄人.....

I applied for the Married Child Priority Scheme, thus we had 4 chances. I guess that was part of the reason why we were SO lucky. But right......... Although we were successful, our number was quite at the back, thankful we were not those numbers which are more than the available number of units but still...... We were unable to choose the units we initially intended to choose. Had to get do with other units.

I wanted the Dry & Wet Kitchen units SO badly... But by the time when it was our time to choose, high level ones were all taken up .  D:   Nevermind, we can do it on our own during renovation too..

After balloting was going down on the date they scheduled for you to choose units, then if you are like us, unsure whether you should apply for the AHG and HLE before going to choose the units, don't worry............. Don't even worry not having the documents they told you to bring along... Just bring yourself and your IC and any documents you have and go to choose your unit first.

You can just tell them you did not have the other documents and they will pass you a paper with all the stuff you lack of and all the other applications paper and whatsoever, and then you have to submit all the documents they passed you, completed, by the date given. If I never remember wrongly it was about a week or two.... If you can't make it, no worries...... Just give them a call and let them know when you will be able to head down to the HDB Office to submit your documents.... It's not really that nerve wrecking like how other people mentioned it to be.

Our experience was kinda chill.... Just annoyed cus there's a lot of waiting..... Oh in the meantime, maybe you'd like to find the facebook page/group of the estate you will be living in. If you have any questions/worries, just check with your future neighbours, some of them with nice numbers would have gone through the process, so just post a status... Your helpful future neighbours will answer your queries.

It's fun y'know.... Like I even found out one of my regular customer is going to live in the same estate as me! Hehe. So amazing.......

"Will I have a good life with you????? :/"

HAHAHAHA ~

I bet I will cus there's love.
